Got some go news for those people who have NTSC wii that are semi-bricked at 3.1U. There is a disc that is solely a 3.2U update.
I tested it and it works. (I was semi-brick with wiichess at 3.1E)

1. Go to Here
2. Look under the search bar you'll see a section called new downloads.
The file is called NTSC Semi-brick fix disc
3. Download it (if you don't have an account, get one)
4. Extract
5. Burn with ImgBurn
6. Put it in your wii, and click on the Game Channel. It will ask you to update, so click yes.

PS. As of now this is only for the NTSC wii.
DON'T NOT RUN THIS WITH A PAL OR JAP WII

Hope this helps some people.

Bobby Hill

I sorry, I have been bricked for 5 months, SSBB and Mario Kart didn't fix it. So when I found it, I posted it. Sorry for repeating.

Thats cool, always nice to reiterate the knowledge.

If you see a PAL semi-brick wii disc out there let us all know.

I found and used this in the other thread, and it worked perfectly on my wii that was semi-bricked by PAL Mario Kart.

If you follow the link in the other thread There are links there to other versions, Japanese and PAL.

Oh and I didn't need to register on the other site to download it.

You purchased Mario Kart in LA and it semi-bricked your Wii? How? is your Wii a PAL region or NTSC? The game case should state were it is to be sold thus giving you the region of the game. I don't believe a Best Buy in LA would sell you a PAL region Mario Kart, but then again weirder things have happened. Is your Wii modded?

Go into your wii settings and in the top right corner it will tell you what the current firmware is. For example, up to date PAL system will say 3.2E the Japanese NTSC may say 3.2J and American 3.2U

That will assist you with the region of your Wii.

As for the game, download regionfri, select the ISO to read (you may have to copy the disc to an image with ImgBurn) and it will tell you what region it is for. If the game is an original simply read the cover and it should state the region.

ahhh, da

of course, sorry... shouldn't reply to posts late at night.

Can we make an assumption here... that units sold in Phillipines will all of one particular region. Tried to google it without success.

Anyone else out there in forum world help out with a wii from philllipines and advise what latest firmware is and its format.

Say guys, this semi-brcik disc (NTSC), do I need to operate the wad files with the twilight hack or do I just burn it as a regular pc files disc and it will just show up at the wii menu?

Burn it like any other wii game and pop it in. Once you update your wii to 3.2U you won't have much use for the disc anymore.

Well..., just my luck!
Burned the dvd, popped it in my wii, updated and..., STILL NO OPTIONS SCREEN!!!, and it is still semi-bricked!
And yes I am sure I used the correct region disc.

Now, the wii doesn't recognize that dvd aynmore.
I'm out of ideas...

That disc was for people who got semi-bricked at 3.1 (SMG,SSB, Wiichess)
If you got semi-brick at 3.2 you will have to wait a while, until nintendo releases a new update. What game did you semi-brick at?

I don't know what to say. I sorry, it should have worked. All you can do now is wait for a 3.3 update. :(
