wierd graphics problem

i have a xbox elite it is about 6 months old have not had a single problem with it then all of a sudden yesterday has i was playing GTIV the picture went distored and blurry but i could still play the game rebooted the machine and every thing was fine perfect picture no ROD tried a different game (fifa 08) played for about 15mins and it did it again.what is the problem? please help

I had the same problem see my thread http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/615169
I ended up doing the heatgun fix and the x-clamp replacement it works for now lol. And i never did get a error code the problem just kept geting worse until it hav no video at all just black screen.

My Elite just started doing the same thing 2 days ago, and my system is about 8 months old, and it started freezing as well, but no ROD; I too tried different games and the same thing is also happening. My Elite is ventilated well; I've checked all the connections, and nothing. This is very disturbing. I probably use the system about 7 hours a week; with a max usage time averaging 1.5 hours at anyone sitting. The problem seems tobe getting worse, with shorter playing time before she freezes up. Somebody help me. thanks in advance.
