So I was following the tutorial

to update my clean 1.5 FW fat PSP to a 3.90 M33 psp and I think I've bricked the poor thing. I successfully updated to 3.52 M33 and 3.52 M33-4, but somewhere between 3.52 M33-4 and 3.71 M33 I must have screwed up or missed a step.

The PSP now shows me a nice green light but will not boot (even with just AC and no card inserted).

Anyway, if someone can bail out my sorry butt and hook me up with 3.90 M33 along the way, it'd be greatly appreciated. Heck, I'm willing to pay for your time, as well as shipping both ways.

There's no one around here that even knows what a PSP is - so no way for me to beg, borrow, or steal someone else's to help the situation.

Email me if you think you can help - and include how much you want as payment. Thanks much, fellas!

I guess I'll reply - to myself :) I think I am going to purchase a Pandora's battery / magic stick combo from Amazon and do the unbricking myself (hoping the combo is legit - from his feedback, it looks OK).

That way, whenever I brick the sucker again, I'll have a way out. Thanks for reading the post and happy gaming.

your fairly scrwewed with out a pandora and MMS(you already know that) I would NOT send that psp to someone to mod... it just might not come back. Check out ebay, you can buy the MMS and pandora combo for usually under $60... you'll be able to unbrick AND you'll have the tools ON HAND if something ever happens again.

http://cgi.ebay.com/PANDORA-BATTERY-AND-...1QQcmdZViewItem

an example on ebay right now... if your really strapped for cash and can't fork over the money e-mail me... I may be able to help.

John,

Thanks for the response. I'll let you know how the pandora / mms combo works out. I've been watching little tutorials on YouTube, and it looks like you just pop them both in and you're good to go!

Amazon offers several combos that will unbrick and update, but prices vary greatly. I'm considering going through the seller Pandora Sales 2008 (http://www.amazon.com/shops/pandorasales2008) - but even though most of these options look identical, the prices are all different. He has 100% feedback, but I'm not sure which one to get. I guess I can always ask the seller lol.

Anyway, thanks again for the response and suggestion. Until the goods arrive, I get to stare at a blank psp screen.

The MMS+pandora WILL WORK... as long as the seller made them properly. I can't offer any help with WHO to buy from... I made my own... of course you CAN'T now since your bricked. If your in a bind I can offer MY MMS and Pandora up to you for the small fee of RETURN SHIPPING... IMHO its BAD karma to charge for SOMEONE ELSES HARD WORK( Dark/alex and so on)... thats why I WOULD NOT SELL MY MMS/Pandora and charge friends/friends of friends and so on a THANK YOU and HAND SHAKE for modding/unbricking their PSP...if you decide/need to go this route of BARROWING my unbricking tools let me know.

John

BTW this is NOT an open offer for ANYONE to borrow my unbricking tools... I'm just trying to help out the OP since he's in a bad position with no help around... PLEASE DO NOT TURN THIS THREAD INTO A "Shultz I'll take you up on your offer" thread!!!!

sorry about putting my email address on there.

Thanks John for the offer - I'm going to see how the purchase ends up, and if I get a bunch of bogus crap in the mail, I'll gladly pay for sending / return postage for your unbricker - and I don't mind tipping, either :)

Also, if the purchase option doesn't work, i'm going to buy a battery and stick to make my own pair after the bricking is corrected. I may contact you for a little help, since obviously I can't follow the forum written instructions (hence my awesome PSP brick experience last night).

Thanks again - I'll let ya know how it all turns out.
