my friend have palwii but he updated his wii with ssbb (us ver) and now his firmware is 2.3u or 2.4u (can't remember). if he was to update to 3.1E can that brick his wii.
It can't get any clearer then what has been posted in the guide.
Quote:Option 2) Since system settings are not available you will need to use a Game Disc (Same region as your Wii) that has a higher firmware update on it then the firmware that caused the semi-brick issue.
Originally posted by JOJIMBO: okay I read the post "How to protect from region brick". thanks for the help since you are the one who posted it.
but just to be clear, is it okay to update a palwii with a 3.1E even if the wii has 2.3U or 2.4U.
Please forgive larrylje, he didnt notice that you have a problem reading english, so ill do it for you.
From the sticky larrylje reffered to, and from the elements you presented:
If u have 2.3U or 2.4U, this means your wii is USA.
The update you want to install is 3.1 European.
This means NTSC WII with PAL Update = Brick.
At the end of the day, I figured out that english is very simple, you just have to read word by word, line by line, and understand them as a whole.
nash79 I think you are the one who has problem s with reading english because I clearly said that the wii is pal and NOT NTSC. and it was update to 2.3u or 2.4u
so next time read the posts before you start posting
good for you, so you can read the sticky, so im of no use. Yet the answer to your blocking question is in the sticky larrylje pointed at. So you still didnt read well that post.
but anyways, Im not into arguing, so i suggest ur friend should update it to 3.2E using a wiifit or mario kart disk first, then he can brickblock ntsc games as matter of prevention. that's the same thing I did.
