Hi guys, I got a problem when i flashing the prxs and rcos extracted from vistacor.ctf by CTF Manager.

I flashed all the stuff in the extracted in the psp via flash0.
I do these because i wan to modify my psp theme other than the original.

And the result is:
The icons in xmb show out, the topmenu is not arranged and the reboot icon is named "network update".

I think the problem mess with the topmenu_pluging,topmenu_icon, paf.prx and vshmain.prx.

while the original view of ctf is:

Other example:
The network update icon is named "shutdown(R) reboot".

The original view of ctf:

However there is no Go! Messenger in the xmb.

The original view of ctf:

Can someone guide me to flash the ctf? Thanks

the prx files tells the icons where to go so you will need to make sure that you have copied the theme prx files accross

from the looks of it you have still got the original paf.prx vhsmain.prx still in the flash0

as the icon are aranged in the normal xmb style

(what did you use to extract a ctf file been looking for something that will do that)

Use CXMB to flash the .ctf file instead of extracting the individual files. You can find the latest version of CXMB at www.consolespot.net if you use their search function (Also a great source for flash0 files and .ctfs). If you want i'll try and find the link when i get some time to look.

As Dr1ver said, it looks like those files haven't flashed, did you get any errors when flashing, and have you made sure you have enough flash0 space?

I use an application call ctf manager to extract the files.

Well, i do have cxmb in my psp, but i do these instead is to modify my psp to test for rcos combination to make it beautifully.

Furthermore, im using psp slim, it has a larger internal memory, isn't it?

yer it does

just so you know dont mix and match prx files other wise you'll get the problem you have at the mo. the reason for this is that the prx files for a theme control where the icons are positiond on the screen.

rco files are more or less fine to mix and match (apart from the top_menu_plugin as it store the icons) and they are the files that have the theme look on them

but make sure you dont mix different fw themes together

The rcos and the prx i extracted above is from Vistacor ctf, the prx and the rco should match each other as long as they are from the same ctf, i still cannot find out the problem.

right you still have the original prx file in the flash0 you can see that from the images as there in the same order as the normal xmb menu.

now to fix this reflash all the sony original prx and rco file that you replaced.
turn it on and the original theme should be there, now you can start from scratch.

so if you could give me a list of all the files in the resources and module folder under vsh for the theme you want to have. i will then tell you which one to put where in a step so you dont have any problem.

or you can go through the guide that i linked at the top and it should help you find where they go.

i dont think cxmb does anything special to change the position of the theme so it should all work when extracted

Ok, now there is paf.prx and vshmain.prx in the module folder, i did a trial to flash just only the paf.prx into flash0, it still not working, the paf.prx of the ctf is 1.6MB, while the original sony's is 753KB.

Here i uploaded the .ctf and the extracted folder(rcos and prxs inside)
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=H405HR67

Add: Well i also try flashing vshmain, paf.prx, topmenu_plugin, topmenu_icon in my slim, it seem the vshmain and paf.prx didnt work with my psp
