hi i hope someone can help me with this box & cap 11 & 21
in this box c11 = 2200uf @ 10v - 85 oc ( look o/k) & c 21= 1uf @ 50v-85oC ( looks like over heating) is their a up grade for c21
i also checked & it is not a clone. any help app

The temp rating is correct you can up the voltage if you want? But is your box OK or is it dead?

yes it working but pic frez & turns off now & again (the box a frends) c11 is def leaking. if put a meter no c11 on c11 to see wath the voltage is then go up or juat go to 16v?

Yes definitely change the C11 to a 16V, 25V will also do. First page of this very thread will give you all the info you need.
Go to Maplins and ask for an electrolytic 1000uF 16V cap. The part number is VH50E.

Hi bought a starview 2 the box about a year ago no problems till about a week ago. picture now keeps freezing and breaking up alot , very annoying
Anybody got similiar problems?

This is a reply to the question about the C11 capacitor It can be any voltage over 16 volts even if it does not seat all the way down on the PCB As a long standing TV service engineer we use to fix larger cap in to make them last longer and the space available in the SW box it can be left proud of the PCB

When you purchase the caps ask for 105 degree type they will never get hot again and cost no more than standard type

Check that your Key EMU is turned ON, Menu 1570 otherwise do the following
Do a factory re-set - Menu and down to Factory Settings OK, Language English OK then choose your provider NTL, TW etc. and then Automatic Scan, when complete exit to main menu and 1570 and turn Key EMU ON, exit all the way out to encrypted channel.
