Hi,

I have the following:

-An older Wii (Not d2C). The Wii OS is probably one of the older versions, as I've yet to connect it to the internet
-A wiikey
-A USB wi-fi connector (for wireless access via my laptop)

I will be installing the Wiikey tonight (I have all the tools I need - mini-screwdriver, tri-wing screwdriver, 15W soldering iron, .022 solder, wire, etc.). I am fine with all of this - my confusion comes afterwards.

My question is: What do I need to do (step-by-step) after the physical installation of the wiikey?

I am talking about wiikey firmware installations, configuration and setup, and wii OS updates (whether it's on-line or from newer Wii games).

I have looked on-line for several days, but have been confused by a lack of central documentation, as well as the changing advice over time (it seems like what I would've needed to do six months ago to set up a fully-functioning Wiikey is different than what you need to do now or a year ago, thanks to different software updates from Nintendo on their discs or on-line service).

If someone could provide me with a detailed, ordered list of what I need to do software-wise after the physical installation of the wiikey, I'd greatly appreciate it. Again, I've looked around quite a bit - but this has just left me confused. It's not for lack of trying. If you give me version numbers of firmware updates and so forth, I can find the actual files myself.

I'm eventually interested in playing burned copies of the following games:
-Twilight Princess
-Mario Galaxy
-Metroid Prime 3
-Mario Kart Wii
-Super Smash Bros. Brawl

As well as Gamecube games (I have my own copies of most GCN games, but being able to play backups would be a plus). So whatever I do software-wise with the Wiikey, the ability to play all the above would be helpful.

Thank you.

-Haytil
