Im finally thinking of getting a flashed xbox360. Ive recently brought a new pc which has a dual layer burner and i will go and get some disks.
I was going to order a pre flashed console from memtechsolutions but read some bad reviews on here about them so not sure where to get one now, im in the uk. If anyone could recommened somewhere it would be apprciated.

sorry for the double post
if i buy a Pal 360 does that mean only pal backups would work? if i got hold of a backup that was released in USA before UK would i still not be able to play it or can it be patched?

A lot of games are in fact all region when they say they are PAL. But some are strictly PAL or NTSC. I'll post a database where you can find out shortly when i find it.

as for the flashing, mostly everyone here will tell you to just do it by yourself. I got post a few guides. I have done it myself, and i can tell you that before i flashed it...i knew nothing about 360's. But following guides i was able to flash my 360 in an hour. Which is still considered a while.

yes i have done 4 now and knew nothing about 360's. the fourth one took me 5 minutes. its best to just do it yourself, its a good learning experience.

Yeah good learning experience, but I'd rather pay someone $30 to flash it because it's a $300 machine you could F up if you don't know what you're doing, not like a $50 radio. Try craigslist to find someone local, don't send it to someone.

I agree, i think it not only increases your knowledge of 360s but computers in general.
plus i spend $10 on a sata card to flash mine and have already made that back 20 fold flashing 360 for friends.

some drives like the sammy are darn near unbrickable, even teh BENQ is hard to brick.
Now if I had a hitachi 79 i'd pay somebody or sell and get a new one.

and besides the rare chance of getting the hitachi 79, most of all of the consoles are really hard to screw up

Get the right equipment. For the sammys that pci/sata card pays for itself the first time you cure a bricked ms28 drive ;)
I flash using a machine which runs purely dos.. no pretties. It's fast and easy.
