First off, this is my first time modding a Wii, I got done installing the d2ckey with wii-clip today. My question is if this is modchip problem, or my burner/media combo problem(I am assuming it is burner/media based on what it does)

Modchip: d2ckey w/ wii-clip
Wii firmware: 3.2u
disc media: maxell dvd-r 8x(burned at 2x only)
burner: Samsung BG69-00618A
games tried: no more heroes and ghost squad

What is wrong: The game loads fine, and I click start and the game boots up fine, both discs when it gets to the main menu(where it says press + button) they give me this error:
unable to read disc, check operations manual

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I won't be able to answer back until later, as I have to get ready for work now.

EDIT: It just booted and ran No More Heroes, I ran around for a bit, then I went to wii menu to try Ghost Squad, and now it won't read either disc, but still reads retail games fine.

either the wii clip is loose, bad burns, or missing the require firmwares

Is there a way to check if the burn is good? Also, I didn't think you could update firmware on the d2ckey, there is no connector on the chip at least.

EDIT: I have the gdr-8162b drive, is there a way to check if the burn is good with that?

Ok, thanks for the info, is there a way to check if I have the required firmware, sorry new to this. I am trying a different disc(which shows working with 0 dre at http://wiki.scorpei.com/index.php/Wii_DVD_compatibility_list If that doesn't work, then I guess I re-open the console and check with a multimeter to make sure the connections are good on the wiiclip, thanks again for you patience and help.

EDIT: I tried a backup of Obscure: the aftermath with different media and burner, and it booted and played fine :D I guess I had a bad combination of burner/media. From now on I will do the raw dump on my pc then transfer the image to my laptop to burn.

Thanks one last time for the help, glad it wasn't the modchip installation.
