Can my 360 share internet with My computer?

Hey, I guess I'll get straight to the point, I have A wireless modem, I'm too cheap to buy a wireless adapter for my 360 and don't really want a LAN cord the ungodly length it would need to stretch to reach the router. So this brings us to my new idea, by hooking the computer to the 360, can the 360 share the internet connection.


I know when I set up a network old school style with xp it would give me some message like that. Maybe this is a better question for Microsoft, or maybe I just need to buy a Adapter and stop being cheap, but I figured you guys could give me some direction.

i think you might be able to use windows to bridge the connection. i dunno never tried it.

Yes you can if your using windows xp, hit start, control panel, network connections or whatever and when you see your wireless adapter right click it and go to the advanced tab or whatever the tab is I forget and check "allow other users to connect through this...." and then hit ok. After that drag the wireless icon to the lan icon and you should be able to choose bridge this connection. Then fire up the xbox. Im sorry if any information is incorrect Im saying it off the top of my head.

Dont buy from office depot.I just used that link as to what I mean.
This is what Im using.It gives you an extra ethernet port so your computer can have 2 shared wired connections.I think this is cheaper bcuz you need this and an ethernet cable.depending on how far ur pc to ur 360 is.
I got a 25 feet CAT 5 one Belkin brand.Works great at REALLY great speeds.And if you do do this,get a CAT6 cable.I use CAT 5 cuz they didnt have any CAT 6 cables at the store with 25 feet length.

Once you have it installed,connect your ethernet wire to the back of the 360 and another end to the back of the Linksys adapter installed.
Then make sure your modem is connected to your main ethernet port on your pc tower.Turn on your computer.Then go to network settings,clikc on the main internet connection u use,right click on it,and then to the advanced tab and then click the box letting other pcs share this connection.THIS IS A WIRED METHOD.

there are a bunch more if you plan to buy the ethernet card.

Personally i think you should just buy the adapter and go wireless. That is what having a wireless router is for.

You can connect your xbox 360 through wireless ready computer. Bridging is a bad way of doing it because it's veryslow. What you want to do is shared connection. Go to "Network Connection" right click on the connection that you're using on your computer and click properties. Go to "Advanced" tab and check the box that say "Allow other network users to connect through this computer's internet connection." and the one below it. Warning: IF you're using a router that automatically distribute your IP Address make sure to change the gateway default address of your router to someting other than 192.168.1.0 because it will give you same ip address problem when you try to share connection change it to like 192.168.1.1
