Hi guys,

I?m looking for some help on identifying why my modchip isn?t working. I installed an Argon chip with wii-clip into my console yesterday. I purchased the console about 3 weeks ago, and the serial number begins LEH185 so I am aware it may be one of the D2C2 boards.
After installation of the clip and chip, the console will still play original games as per usual. I?ve tried two backups (pro evo 2008 & wii balloon, both PAL, written to Maxell DVD-R discs) but have had no success. The blue light comes on, flickers whilst the disc loads, and then turns solid blue.
I?ve attached a couple of shots of my installation below. The D2C chip only has one line of writing saying ?GC2-D2C?. The text ?APCB D3 94V-0? which is present on some D2C2 boards is NOT on my board.
I guess there are two possibilities here, either I have the new D2C2 board or my installation is faulty. I really need to identify which of the two it is. If I have the new D2C2 board, does anybody know when Infectus will be releasing an update which will solve the problem? I didn?t purchase the Injectus Programmer so I guess I will have to do so to administer any kind of update, unless of course there is a DVD update option.

Thanks in advance for any advice I?m given!

First off you really need to fix the size of the images so it fits to the forum page better. It is a pain to have to use the side scroll bar when reading a post.

This could be a media issue. Maxell is a hit and miss brand when it comes to the Wii reading it. Get some Tayio Yuden or Verbatim media and burn with IMGBurn at 4x.

There is no 100% way to know if you have a new D2C2 board. As of now Infectus does not have a fix for ARGON + D2C2 boards. They are predicting that the issue will be solved by next week. I have no idea if this includes a new Modchip all together or if they can use a firmware update.

If it is a firmware update then yes you will need to get an Injectus programmer. The DVD upgrade option is used with the 9 wire (SPI) install. Even if you where to switch over to the 9 wire install you would need the the Injectus programmer to change the firmware from 13 +4 to 9 wire to use the DVD upgrade after that.

Right so I got some Verbatim's and gave them a try but still no success. I guess it's looking more likely that I have a D2C2 board, right?
