Hi,

I am trying to install a 2nd wiikey in a 2nd Wii but have come across a problem.

Its a D2B Wii with cut legs. I have grinded down the chip to expose the 3 coper wires. I have connected the wires from the wiikey to these. I have used thicker wire on the 2 main connectors on the Wiikey and used Kynar wires for the rest.

When turning on the Wii, the motor turns for approxiamtely 5 seconds instead of the normal 1-2 seconds. Also, I have to push the games in a lot harder than I did previously.

Originals still work but copies cant be read. I suppose its a bad install but cant see whats wrong with the above?

Thanks in advance.

Can you take a picture of the install? Also you should not be "pushing" the discs in in the first place. The drive sucks the disc right in without any force.

OK the install is not very....adequate. You stripped too much of the wire. From what I'm seeing the wires are too long.

Hi,

After shortening the wires, It read 1 backup disk once and now doesnt read it. Originals still work. I have checked the connections and they are all still solid. But I also still have to force the disk in.

You probably messed the motor up by forcing discs in. I don't know if you did something wrong in the soldering process. If all else fails then it looks like you will need to buy a new drive if you want to play backups.

Hi

backups are working now but still have to kinda force the disks in. have updated the chip to 1.9s as well so will live with forcing the disks in (only partial force as once its 1/3rd way in, it sucks it in).

thanks for your help.
