I know for the best results, I need a combination of sanding, primer, finish, and paint, but how would it turn out if I just used the paint.

I did it to the controller and was pretty happy with the result.

I think that depends on what condition the case is in. if you have a lot of scratches on it, then they could turn up in the paint job.

also over time the paint may start to peel if you don't treat it correctly

The fusion does work pretty good. Except on controllers. It will work fine, but after many hours of use, your sweat, grime, etc. will work in to and lift the paint from the grips.

But if you're just doing the console it works pretty good.

you may also want to think about buying some clear coat spray as well and putting that on in a few coats after a few coats of paint.

If your spray painting, dont just use Paint.Trust me,I tried it on my guitar hero xplorer guitar to make it black, and once it dries and everything, the paint smears bit by bit on your fingers when you play it.Now its not like that..2 inches of the paint on the edge of my xplorer guitar is gone and is white again.but for the sake of an xbox 360 dont just paint it.Spray paint it and leave a good finish, and sand it also.Itll be better.

If you use fusion, you don't need to prime it, but you should clear coat it with acrylic clear. This way the paint won't come off on to your hands. Seal the paint with said clear coat espcailly for controllers and such.

and Fusion works excellent!
