Hi, I installed a a Wii Key with a Wii clip perfectly without soldering and then when I inserted the game disk, it goes in but never spins. You hear some weird noise for about a second and then you can see a red light laser flashing. Can someone help me fix my drive? It ejects and takes disks in but the disk never spins. Any help would be nice,
You probably haven't pushed the clip all the way down. When I sit down I push with all my strenght on each long side (not corner), 4 times in order to make it fit, and I'm pretty strong. So yeah, the Wii won't break if you use a little force.
I put all my force into the clip and made sure it was fully connected. The DVD Drive spins if i put anything in it, but then stops spinning abruptly. When I remove my Wiikey, the DVD drive doesn't spin at all.
Huh. The first thing (where it spins down abruptly) sounds like it's just not connected well enough, and it needs to be removed and applied again. But the second things (dead drive?) sounds worse.
Try re-applying it, and don't press down in the middle of the clip. Just the sides (not the corners), and hard.
If it still doesn't work after a few times you might wanna consider getting it changed/a refund.
I reconnected the chip and it still isnt working. I pushed down on all sides and still nothing. Also, I don't think this is dead because it wouldn't eject or load. Did you mean that that drive isn't connected well or the chip?
If the chip was the problem, then why doesn't my wii work when i remove the chip?
