Just about to flash my 360 for the first time and was wondering if the stealth firmware would work online properly. as in, could i go play online without getting detected and banned?

I'll try to put this in a lot nicer words than most everyone else who will answer your question. The answer is a big YESNOMAYBE. Some people can play online without being detected while others get busted. Despite what some people may claim, no one (besides Microsoft) really knows how they detect the firmware, but they do. The general sentiment is if you are at all worried or concerned about losing your Live account and/or voiding your warranty, don't even risk it because you will probably get caught eventually.

Ok man let me tell you how these people got banned.Actually I would thank these people cause then we would all know NOT to use the firmware they got banned on.If Im not mistaken, this means that when Microsoft brings out updates on LIVE,it reads your firmware. And if its not like the original firmware put on the 360s DVD drive, then you get banned.I think this is the way it is.SO this is why it is critical to update your firmware and stay updated to see who got banned so all the FW developers can bring out a new FW and you reflash it and be safe. This is how MS is cracking down on people with firmware. So when a FW becomes detected, all the people with that FW(Firmware),become banned forever.ANd there is a modchip that gets you unbanned from live.IM NOT LYING.Here it is

I wish I could remeber where to find the chip.ANyways.DONT WORRY ABOUT PLAYING ON LIVE.Just be sure to stay updated on news about FW and bans on flashed FW.

Well, thanks everyone for the help. and yeah Erfan223 i have heard of that but never really believed it until now. i will be sure to keep a good eye on the FW news and be ready for updates from Microsoft. at the last moment i used an old 360 so i am not too bothered about being banned from XBL on this one. but for my main, i guess it would be best to use a modchip from somewhere, one that can stealth my 360 100%.

anyways, thanks for the help. everything seems to be working great and everything works. ^^

Yah you can't.MS is a very smart company. They will eventually find a way to ban users with flashed consoles. And even the modchips like NME 2.0 cant assure you ull be safe all the time.
