7 out of ten of my back ups are getting disc unreadable message.then when i inspect them there scratched,will it be because im using cheap dual layers.(ridisc),im still waiting for verbs to arrive.

do you know if the drive is scratching the majority of your discs? Do you own any originals that have also been scratched?

it seems to be just back ups ridisk,media.orinals are ok.but some of the
ridisk back ups are fine such as condemned 2 played regular but no problems and no scratches,yet gta4 played twice now its scratched all over with arch shaped scratches,

that kinda of media is very, very easy to scratch. it you have your console vertical just the spin up could trash it.

dumb question, your not putting labels on these discs, are you? That can cause them to spin off balance and scratch a disc.
That or the cheap-o discs may just not be balanced correctly.

somethig about most of them is causing them to not spin correctly and get scratched. Since the originals are fine.

I respect Ritek media now, it wouldn't be scratched by itself. Like said above, don't have console vertical, and handle disc with care.

yea and with that in mind with the posts combined, if you have a vertical console with a nice looking, but unbalanced label on the media it would spin out very easily causing damage to the media.
