I installed a D2Ckey chip in my Wii. I tried playing burned games and original DVD movies but none of them work, it says it cannot read the disc. Original games still work. Are there any updates that are needed but not installed? I got my Wii from best buy in early April 2008. I have researched and this Wii is moddable. Any ideas? thanks

Could be a media problem, lots of posts on what media to use so have a quick search for the most recommended disks.

Well its not a chip update. The D2Ckey dosent support firmware updates as I recall.

Are you burning with imgburn? I once knew someone who was just burning the iso file on the disk, as in if you put the disk in the PC and opened it you'd still see the iso file.

Also, how did you install the chip? If its a wii-clip make sure the socket is seated firmly down. If its a wired install make sure all your solder points are good and none are bridged.

I tried using imgburn and nero. I am using a wii clip and it seems to be in pretty snug. If i can't play a regular DVD, then do you think it is the chip that is causing the problem? Maybe its a bad chip or maybe i got to keep trying to adjust it. any thoughts? thanks

DVD movies dont work on the wii even with a modchip, so dont bother trying with that.

Make sure all the solder joints from the modchip to the wii clip are solid and make sure your using games from the same region as your wii or that you have the region override jumpers set.

I am in the U.S. so my Wii should be able to play NTSC versions, correct? If I do need to set the override region jumpers, how would I do that? thanks for trying to help me, I am pretty new to this stuff and I got to learn somehow
