Yes it will work. It worked fine on my V14, I just like the TOOL A better on the Magic Switch Pro V4 better is all.

Its up too you, they cost the same, you just get more tools with the latter.

Yes the Magic Switch V3 is pretty much the same as for the V4, so you shouldn't have any problems.
If you need help when you get them, then let me know.

Cheap & flimsy pieces of plastic and aluminum is what that stuff is. The part for the sensor near the hinge is annoying as heck to install and eventually will stop working if bent even slightly out of whack. Why would anyone pay $9.95???? It isn't worth 10 cents even if it does work.
It's easier, cheaper, and more reliable to just hot glue the sensors. Accomplishing it isn't rocket science. You could use almost anything to keep the sensors down. Don't use super glue though.
I don't mean to be pessimistic but anyone that would buy such junk would probably buy the a "Solar Powered Clothes Dryer" for $100.
If you never heard of that scam....it's a length of rope. ;)

Well I bought that junk a few years ago, and have not had the tool near the hinge bent. It is actually quite hard to bend it and you don't need to bend it.
And that PS2 slim I installed it on has been used quite steady, with no problems at all. Took me a few minutes to install it with the proper guide.
The first tools that ever came out were tricky to install, but the latest tools are quite easy.
And no I wouldn't be out there buying "Solar Powered Clothes Dryer" either
You don't like it, then thats fine, but don't advise people to glue things either. I don't recommend that at all, when there are tools to do it with.
And taping down the sensor is better than glue.

Yes it is tricky to put it in.
I got it in, and then had to wiggle it a bit before I knew it was resting on the right spot.
Put a disc into the console, push the ON/RESET button and insert Tool E. Release the ON/RESET button, if Tool E is installed correctly, the disc automatically rotates.
Adjust the position a little bit to left or right if the disc doesn?t rotate.
If none of that works, and your not worried about the warranty, you can open your PS2 and place TOOL D inside.
Then you shouldn't need TOOL E.
Place a Disc inside the PS2, and if it spins with the lid open, its done correctly.
