I have a 3.2U wii that i am planning to mod. Ive read that if you update with a different regions CD you can brick you wii and that you should just get new updates from the internet on your wii. So i went to check the updates before i modded and it told me that before i did anything if i had any mods it could harm them, so should i update it? i didnt know the wii had another update even

I found that I could not use all WiiWare games, but as soon as I ran the online update they worked. (Can play PAL WiiWare games on NTSC machine using freethewads, previously could only play NTSC wads)
At some stage in the future Nintendo might disable some bug exploits, but at this stage, no problems.
oh thank you for that, glad to know updating from the internet wont brick my wii with the chip in, at least the site you sent said that. so if i am on IOS37 now, that means i could play a PAL version of super mario galaxy, and not have it try and update my wii and brick? (i have an NTSC/US)
