I'm having a problem with the unbricker. (see my original problems here (right here). I can't even turn it on, let alone go to system settings and format the drive. Once again, did I create a $150 paperweight?

Quote: trying to install a linux emulator. I went to the flash 0 area to usb connect and clicked format flash 1 on accident. So I Undid the cover and pulled the battery. Now It won't boot. The power light comes on for about five seconds and shuts off. Is this curable, or did I just create myself a $150 paperweight?
thats what he did. hes trying to unbrick but he cant make a mms through his psp because its bricked.
could he use a card reader?
Edit: i read you can using a program called pandoras box and a card reader so you can either buy a card reader or borrow a friends psp and make it through that
Isaac r lol

first u need to either softmod or hardmod ur battery
SOFTMOD BATTERY
the program that will softmod it i have uploded it here
http://www.sendspace.com/file/xug4ez
if u cant run this program from ur psp then u have to do this
HARDMOD BATTERY
at first it may take you 20-30mins, but once you get used to it, it should take you no more than 20secs...you only need two thing:

a box cutter
now u need to make a magic memory stick

and a safety pin
amazing that these common household products can be used? lol
anyways you just used the box cutter to open the battery, but hold the battery with the SONY logo facing you...and cut along the left side (shorter side). as you are cutting, just keep rubbing against the crack, but dont force it, just keep going back and forth until you can push the top open...now you should see the motherboard on the battery

indicated, make sure it says ICO4...then used the safety pin to cut the pin indicated in the pic...and you have a pandora's battery! now for the magic memory stick...thats another story...i just showed you how to make your battery pandora

Yeah it sounds like your battery isint pandoraed. I hardmodded a battery but didnt think of a boxcutter. Those friggin points are so tiny. I used a soldering iron and desoldering thread. Find a cheap ass battery if your going to do this.

if u softmod your battery then its really easy to get it back to normal
if u hardmod it its harder cause have to sodder back the pin u lifted up and if u cant do that then u need a new battery

Thank you general!!! I opened it up (after much effort) and Now I'm nervous. I'm trying to break it out using plastic so I don't connect the two, instead of soldering, beacuse I only have a cold heat...
