Hey, Im sort of new to this, but ive read alot of threads about burning SSBB but im not having any luck so ill just explain every step i took hoping that someone will help.

I download Brawl from a torrent site called GamesTorrents (www.gamestorrents.com) and it was compressed and the extracted version is 7.92 GB. I then tried burning it many times using Imgburn version 2.4.1.0. The first time, i did it at 2.4x and there was an error. The second time, i did it at 2x, but at about 20-40%, it got stuck and it stopped burning. The third time, i got really tired of it and i decided to use NTI CD & DVD maker at 2.4x (2x) and it burned comepletely, but on my Wii, The game did not start and the disc channel didnt change. Im sortof really desperate as this is actually a huge waste of Dual-Layered Discs. Please, someone, help me.

BTW: I'm using Verbratim DVD+R DL's with no luck, and I have the Wiikey modification.

Yooooo!

There is a dedicated SSBB thread under the ultimate sticky thread. You should take a look there and if you still have issues post there. A MOD more then likely will close this due to the dedicated thread.

But try using IMGBurn again and burn it at the fastest rated speed that the DL supports.

As well try booktyping the DL media to DVD-ROM. You do this by selecting the book icon at the bottom right hand corner of IMGBurn. Choose the TAB that supports your writer then under "Change for:" select "Drive (For DVD+R DL Media)" in the drop down menu. Under "New Setting:" select "DVD-ROM" in the drop down menu. Then choose OK to save the settings.

Now load and burn SSBB ISO at the fastest rated speed of the media.

Thanks, though im kindof in a situation here. My dad doesnt want me to waste any more Dual Layered Discs (or more importantly, money) so I sort of need a confirmation on the burning with the fastest speed. Also, is there a possibility of the problem occurring with the media I'm using?
Thanks again and in advance.

I had the same problem with my dad. I can get the game to work, it just gets a error message during cutscenes. I wasted like 10 dual layer discs. So now just quit, and use the real copy. I can use dual discs for xbox 360 instead

One thing that is missing from this thread is whether or not you can successfully burn single layer discs that work error free.

Next, can you burn dual layer "anything" 100% error free? (A movie, data disc, etc.

If you haven't verified this, it will be difficult to determine where the problem is. If I were to guess, I would look at bad media/burner combination.

If you don't have a KNOWN (not assumed) working combination to begin with, it could be anything and you will just end up chasing your tail.

I would, but the thing is I live in Pakistan where its pretty hard to get original games. You can get a game over here for like a few dollars. I really need help. Ive been looking for ways to burn it for 3 months so somebody, please help.

Some people say that you need to find the right brand of DL disc that your wii will read.

I already told you how to do it above. Plus the Verbatim would be better then memorsux.

Well, I tried burning SSBB with Imgburn using a Mitsubishi DVD+R DL and an error came up. I wasted 2 DL's burning one at 2.4x (maximum) and the other at 2x. I only have one left. The one I burnt at 2.x didnt even start and the error came up. The one burnt at 2x went till 6% until the error came up. Now, Im gonna try burning it with Nero 8. I couldnt do the bookmarking thing because I'm using a laptop and the manufacturer of the CD Drive isnt given. I really need help cause I only have one DVD+R DL left. Thanks in advance...whoever helps me! lol

Hey guy, you can burn discs 'til the cows come home but if your rig ain't write you will just be a coaster maker.

You still haven't answered the obvious.

Are you 100% sure that your PC can burn any kind of readable DVD???
CDs don't count. A drive can burn CDs correctly but screw up on DVDs.

I am able to burn SSBB using imgburn onto 89 cent DL discs. However, I've made sure that the rest of my system is ROCK solid.

Using Nero 8 is NOT going to solve your problem, IMHO.

I had the same problem.I would get an error at about 40 percent.Try this .In Imgburn go to tools>setting>write.Under option, Layer Break(for dl media)click to user specified and enter 2084960.Burn at 2.4X with verbatim dl.Make sure your burner is up to date on its firmware. That did the trick for me.Alot of great info on the forum if you look.

I burn DVD's all the time and I have even burnt a 360 game on a Dual Layered Disc Succsesfuly. At the moment, im downloading Mario Kart Wii to make sure that Nero will do the trick with wii games.
If it works, im gonna burn brawl.

Yooooo!

Good. At least that established a baseline. Now you can (hopefully) rule out hardware problems.

There still remains the question of the .iso (I never trust an .iso that I haven't created until I see it work once)

There is also the possibility of a bad (or weak burner), but as others have suggested, if you're using less than quality media (and yes, I realize that In some parts of the world, "what you get is what you get"). Same thing with hardware. Just as a lot of the people SWEAR by Pioneer, I will only buy Sony DVD writers.

Good luck.
