I purchased it a few days ago and I'm waiting for it in the mail. It should be here in a few days, they shipped pretty quickly.

I have the d2cpro soldered onto the wiiclip, the black platic part has contacts underneath it which clip straight over the d2c chip. Very easy to install, 10 mins in fact from taking the first screw out to putting the last screw back in. Works a treat...altho this is my opinion, i know some people have had problems.

If you are going to use one i'd give 2 pieces of advice, firstly, don't be afraid to use a little bit of force to ensure full contact between the clip and d2c chip, secondly, power it up and put a disc in before you put it all back together...u'll be annoyed if you put all the crews back in and its not seated properly.

Oh and don't forget to put the protective sticker on the underside of the chip or the pice of cardboard over the top of the black plastic bit to stop it touching any metal componants in the case.

Any other resellers carrying this exact product? I'm definitely looking for a solution like this that requires no soldering, but $99 is a bit steep (but I'm willing to pay, don't get me wrong). Just wondering if anyone knows of any other resellers out there with this, or if these people are legit/respectable. Thanks!

Imburne, did they give you a working tracking number by any chance? The one they gave can't be found on the Canada Post website

I ordered from them 7 days ago and it showed up in my mailbox today. I will try and install it tonight and let you know how it goes.....

No problems with them at all, good tracking number and everything.

Installation went smooth as silk. Took me about 45 minutes (first time) tested it out before I re-assembled, got a red and blue flash, and all was good.

Re-assembled, put in my first attempt at a back-up, and it worked flawlessly.

My feedback on them would be excellent.

Yeah the tracking they gave me was worthless but I have had nothing but fast communication with them so I am not worried.

Should be here in the next few days. I will post up a video on how to do it!

Do they give installation instructions with the chip?

Definitely encouraging feedback on this! I can hardly wait to get one. Is its firmware upgradeable at all, for the future?

No instructions directly from them, but they are all over the net if you search.

It is upgradeable through a ribbon cable (included with the d2pro) and the d2programmer also available at the website. I'm not sure if the d2pro must be removed first before re-programming though...

Bad news I think, the tracking number they gave me just started working and it says the item was just received on Friday (6/6) even though the website stated that it shipped on (6/2). So I guess if your tracking number doesn't work, it actually hasn't been shipped out yet, which is complete bull. Guess I'll be waiting about another week.

OMG, this is amazing, im totally new to the modding scene and it seemed really hard and I was about to give up, this seems like a good all around solution for someone like me! So let me get this straight
Please give a lot of reviews for ma!
Couple Questions:
This comes with everything you need to install??
will this work with the USB Gecko to back up games??
Do I buy single or dual layer DVD's for games?
Does it ship to United States??

Getting it to work with the correct media was a bit of a pain, but installation was easy and it works perfectly.

This modchip combination is totally awesome. Only took me a few minutes to install and it worked right away with my backups. Just do a search on youtube and there are videos on how to open the wii and install the clip. Easy as pie. Canadamods send the chip out promptly and I received it in like 5 days. Can't say enough about Canadamods and the mod chip.

Ordered from canadamods D29PRO WII-Clip, arrived in a week. The install took about 45 min, worked with no issues with D2C2.

Just got mine today. I installed it but its just telling me there is no disk in the drive. Any suggestions? If I take out the chip it will read originals fine. Maybe they sent the wrong one? I was told this would work fine.

The ribbon is just for updating? or is that where I am going wrong?

Oh and I was looking at the chip and it looks like not all the pins are soldered on the chip. Check out the pic

From what I have read, this chip can be updated using DVD (can someone confirm this?) and It seems from all my reading that this would be the best option for someone like me, who doesn't understand JTag and programmers, etc.

I'm looking at purchasing it from the following place

D2Pro9 v2 with Wii-Clip soldered

for $77 it includes D2Pro9 v2 Soldered onto a Wii-Clip. I may even add the Gecko-USB for additional $40.

Is there any reason I should NOT go this route?

TIA

It's a 9 wire D2Pro... I count 8 definite soldered and 1 possible - could it be that there are 9 pads soldered (analogous to 9 wires?)

Man I was excited to get the Wii and modify it.

Picked it up today and its from afew months ago so its either a D2C or a version 2. I'm trying to weigh my costs here, I want the D2pro9, but then taking a look at the cost of a soldering iron, plus the triwing, plus the mod chip... I'd be better off with this solution.

And I was excited to deal with a website with my country's name in it, with the right package for me.

But hearing about your misfortune so far imburne, i'm super skeptical now.

How much was shipping? I'm in Alberta I was hoping that meant it could go standard Canada post and keep the shipping low.
I just tried taking apart some of the wii case, thought I'd check out how others have done it but all the video tutorials on the net are sped up super fast with techno music over top.

Argh. If anyone has had success with this method, have you done a tutorial? Us retards (or maybe just me) would REALLY appreciate.

And heres hoping you didn't get screwed imburne. :( that would suck big time.

If I don't use these guys, who else offers a triwing with d2pro9 presoldered wiiclipv4 with good shipping for around 100?

If buying a dms/d2a/d2b chipset only 5 points should be soldered, if buying a d2c/d2c2 then only 9 points should be soldered. The rest of the points don't lead anywhere and can only cause more issues than anything by connecting them :)

Hope that clears that up. Also there is a video guide coming and a pdf instruction manual on its way as well.

In case of an event where it isnt working properly for you canadamods has a good exchange policy as long as the product wasn't damaged or it wasnt an installation error causing pins to bend etc.

Also if you request a triwing when you order the solderless option a cheaper version triwing is usually thrown in at no extra charge. It is not added for other items though just the presoldered clips.

Lastly for US shipping the methods have changed recently as the old method customs is taking much too long to clear the packages now because of security. The new method is much much faster and only takes a few days usually.

My current systems :)

Xbox 1.6 - Xecuter 3 w 300GB HDD
Xbox 360 - Sammy Drive with ixtrem 1.2
Wii Rev 1.0 - Authentic Wiikey
Be sure to use the summ0ne fix on your v12 !
