Now why didn't they do this to begin with and save all the trouble for us and their 10M$ warranty extension. Really, bad business model.

i can clarify that this heatsink is in the New Xbox360 Consol's

I got a NEW Xbox for Xmas for my sister and it has a compleatly different heatsink to my Old Xbox's

(If case open looking from the front)
The right hand heat sink comes out furthur towards the front of the consol and has a copper pipe running to the Heatsink under the DVD Drive
It is held in place by a small piec of metal which is scred onto the heatsink under the DVD Drive.....

i will get a photo later today INfact i will post thephoto in about 2 mins :D

that's the falcon motherboard; it's been out for a while now. they're still prone to RROD due to improper cooling methods.

the one BurningAs posted is probably the newer motherboard coming out soon. they should run cooler due to 65nm process on both cpu and gpu.

Look at the large gaping openings on both sides of the fan shroud once that new aftermarket heatsink is on there.

And I don't know about the ~$60 price tag, either.

@ daveoboy.... I hope you didn't rip open your 360 just to take those pics. Those heatsinks have been used since before the launch of the Elite.

like i said thermalright > computex
Thanks for those links. It about time someone cameout with aftermarket heatsinks for the 360! And who to do it better than Thermalright!? I'm not surprised at the $60 price tag as all of their heatsinks are expensive. But well worth it in this case.

But I think more importantly they need to develop a heatsink for the GPU rather than a crazy one for the CPU.

wow, thermalright is getting in the console business, with a hefty price tag. just couple that with the talismoon whisper max and the fanshroud mod.
