check to see if there is any securiy settings on the phone
although the phone is unlocked if the security settings are on for the simm card it wont work unless u put in the security code to unlock the phone
if u understand what i'm trying to say
the default code is 12345
if u changed your security code then u will need to put in your security code
also check to see if the phone can operate on the frequency of the carrier u would like to use
having an unlocked phone and not being able to use it on the frequency of your desired mobile operator becuase your phone doesnt support the frequency makes your phone ---a paper weight so to speak
MCCRASH, I tried many SIMs: Telfort (NL), KPN (NL) and TIM (IT) but all with the same "SIM not valid" grim result...
Skylinegt, I can't change any setting (so neither the security ones) as there is no menu appearing. The only command I see is DEMO, and the sad message as above. I understand that many phones can set an additional security level accessible by access code 12345, but it doesn't seem my case (I should be asked to input the code when switching on, shouldn't I?).
I suppose that at least the 2 sims from dutch operators should work on the normal GSM european frequency bands (900 and 1800), being the 1600 compatible with 2G Networks (GSM 900/1800).
I appreciate your quick help guys, but i'm still (b)locked. Any further ideas?
