What Speed should I use when Backing up my xbox360 games

OK so i am new to all of this i have not had trouble as of yet but i have a question...
I am using XBC V 2.8 and a SH-D163B Kreon Drive to back-up my Xbox 360 Games.
I was wondering if it matters what disc/Read speed i set it to when backing up my Xbox 360 Games on my computer.
I know your supposed to burn at 2.4X (if thats right) but what are you supposed to have the read speed at i have been reading/ Backing up at 4x will i need to re back-up all my discs or does it not matter what you read speed is at only your burn speed.

Sorry also another question, when Backing up my Games should I close all programs and not use my computer??? Is their anything else I should Know?

I dont think it matters what the read speed is set at. Mine is at 12x and have not had any problems. I do recommend closing any other programs that may be open.

you are supposed to use 2.4x, if you find it going faster then that, just test out the games and see if they work fine. If not you no your problem. AS for the windows on the screen, it might take longer to burn something with the more operations you have the computer doing, so try and limit them. And as for setting your drive to 12x. Well that's just a personal choice. Just make sure you dont have a fauly laser, cause then the readig laser will have a harder time reading the disc. AS for me i have mine set at 8x and evrything is perfect so far, and the speeds at hich the game loads seems normal. So im happy.

Hey thanks for the replys guys,
Pwhite 23 i see at the end of your post "and the speeds at hich the game loads seems normal"
I notice my backups take long to load is that normal or is it the why i am buring them?
Exmale is GTA IV when i pop the oringinal in it loads on like the 4 picture when i put the backup in it loads on like the 6 picture...

Thanks for the reply just wondering if i should do it over then or if all my games i backed up using 4X is ok...
I do write them at 2.4x

If you have the XBC read speed set at 4x, that's fine. That won't hurt anything. It just takes a little longer to rip the game.

No i rented a bunch of games and still ahve them here luckly have have not put them on a disc yet i just ripped them to my computer

oh....i see, well just do what bhetrick told ya. And you said that your drive speed is 12x. So definitly make sure you burn the game clean. At a low speed.
