Hi all
Any help appreciated.
I have no idea what about what firmware to use on my PSP as there is so many of them about.
All I really want to do is download some games of the internet and play them on my PSP.
I have succesfully downgraded to 1.50 with the help of Lumines and youtube but I dont know what to do now.
Any help, advice or anything extra is muchly appreciated guys.
Cheers
Kev

You just need to to install custom firmware to your PSP...[url=http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/610312]HERE/url] is a great guide to help you.

Here.
Go there and read every inch of it. It will show you how to install 3.52M33-4 and then install either 3.71M33-4, 3.80M33-5, or 3.90M33-2. It will also show you how to install the 1.50 kernel with them.
So if you read it all and don't skip anything, you will have a fully functioning CFW PSP ready to go. =]
If you have questions or need advice or anything, just post back.
Hope that helps,
Thanks. =]

I'm also a newbie. Why do I want to install the 1.50 kernel - what does that give me?
Thanks. Imo.

ok, thanks
just wondering, with the newer cfw, you still retain all the emulator functions and stuff?

k, everything's working great, ty
and sorry to bother u, but had another question
so, installed:
3.52 + m33-3
4.01 + m33-2
1.50 kernel addon
on my 1g stick...but now i'd like to use my 8g stick for all my game isos and stuff, and was wondering if there were any files or anything that i would have to transfer to the 8g in order to run the csos.

@Dark_PSP, welcome. Did I helped you before?
@CrazyChao, after installing the 4.01 M33 and the 1.50 addon. Reformat both memory card via PSP. Place any ISO/CSO into the ISO folder. You're done :)

Try this
1. Turn off your PSP fully (by holding the power button)
2. Turn it on again while holding the R button
3. This should bring you to the Recovery Mode
4. Go to Config
5. Click the UMD mode until you reach to NP9660
6. Exit the Recovery Mode
Do not mess with the Recovery mode unless you know what you are doing.

I'm also very new to the PSP firmware scene. I have an original psp-1001 (fat) and just updated to the new 5.0 firmware. I wanted to know if there is any alternative to the pandora battery solution to be able to downgrade to a firmware where I can play downloaded cso files from the memstick.
Thanks and sorry for the newbness.
