...feed it some veggies... HHAHAHHA Reallyy, you should add extra fans, they do need to be further cooled. I didn't believe in this untill my XBOX RRODed. Yeah just get the intercooleer.

if you do get the intercooler, get a new one, and make sure it's the EX model. be warned, they are noisy. i bought one for testing purposes, and it's louder than the dvd drive. but they do remove a good amount of air.
it's incompatable with my psyclone fan stand, so i decided not to use it. if i find quieter fans to swap in and after a little modding, i may use it again.

those were the original intercoolers. the connectors were all plastic, and the power brick connector scorched them.
the EX model fixed that problem by using a metal connector.
they still draw a lot of power because they're 12v fans, and is directly connected to the power brick. most people have modded the intercooler to use a separate power supply, so that it doesn't use the 360 power brick.
other cooling solutions are fan stands or require disassembling the 360. the psyclone fan stand is the one i use, and is usb powered. stays on all the time, and has a green EL rope; has a switch so you can toggle the EL rope.
rbjtech's fan shroud is a cheap cooling solution. it basically extends the fan shroud over the heatsinks, and creates more pressure inside, so the fans can remove the air better.

yes. the intercooler can be used both horizontally and vertically. it's flush with the system.

Use the Intercooler if you want to break your 360, I can't believe people still use those (even the new ones).
