Everytime I try to close the tray it gets stopped by that circly thing that holds the disk in place and spins it when reading. How do I fix this?

Have you recently had the PS2 taken apart. Thats the DVD drive magnet, that your talking about.

You may have to take it apart and see exactly whats causing the problem.
See if the tray will open and close without the cover on.

I think its called the spindle. Its right in front of the laser. It keeps going up prematurely when I try to get the tray to go back in and blocks my tray. And eys I have recently had the PS2 taken apart.

Ok then its the spindle you mean. So either your drive tray is not aligned properly, or you need to replace your spindle.

You can look at this guide for reference if needed.Scroll down to "Problematic Drive Tray"

I know when I have taken PS2 apart and put them back together, the drive tray should move in and out freely when put together properly.
Just check it before you put it all back together again.

happened to me too. just make sure you dont do what i did and use bruteforce when you become impatient.
You will have to pull it out one knotch and press eject, and see if it worked, then pull it out another knotch and press eject, etc... until it finally finds its position again, its very frustrating at start, but whatever you do, dont be vigorous on it, as you may end up with a broken/noisy disc tray

Its actually quite easy once apart to align the tray.
You will see a white piece that needs to be aligned properly, once in place it will go in and out easy.
