hi,i'm new to the mod chip thing and im just looking for advice on which
chip to buy,there seems to be a lot...i need one thats easy to install
,no soldering,and one that will allow me play my original uk games,can
anyone guide me??????????????

What you want to do is flash your drive. See the stickies for more details.

glanced at stickies page...i was under the impression there are chips on
the market you just manually install by dismantling the console with no
flashing required,i dont want to put games on the hard drive i just want
to use c*pied discs and japanese discs

I think you will find that the chips still need programming/flashing. It depends which part of the world you live.

Just flash the drive. If it's a samsung it's foolproof (almost) and 5 minutes of a job.
