Tsutaya to offer HD downloads

Japan's largest retail chain, Tsutaya, has announced that it will be starting an HD video on demand (VOD) service that will allow users to download titles from home using the acTVila portal that is popular on Japanese plasma and LCD HDTVs. Very interesting development ... especially the price. That's pretty cheap to watch a movie, even more so considering prices of US movies on Blu-ray is more expensive here than in the US or Europe. So this might be a viable alternative.
