Rebooted the box etc but the problem remains, in that the "data is being updated 0%" box is still there
I also did a factory reset and turned the EMU back on...

Couple of channels i set it to ran up to 240% or whatever but then it just went back to 0%

Is it just a matter of leaving on a channel for a few hours or what?

Managed to get a code in the meantime but im not sure thats gonna last for long!

Help please! thanks :)
As Karl has said pretty sure is not good enough! Firmware for boxes is different for each and everyone.
On your thinking you could put eurovox firmare in and expect it to work!
It says "The Box" on the front, thats why im assuming its Starview 2 The Box after reading these forums......
Can anyone tell me a surefire 100% way of telling which firmware i need then?
p.s. and no i wouldnt expect eurovox firmware to work? why would i?

Not for picking up channels but for the programme guide.

Are you not picking anything up when you scan for channels?

Are you n*l ireland? Some of the sv2's need you to do a factory reset, then auto scan, then switch emu on before they will update.

Definetly none of the s*y channels working either...

Has it picked up the channels when scanned?

If so try this

Enter hidden menu and set default key exit to sly spts1 and wait for update.

Have you tried the bad flash recovery with an older version of firmware, and if you can manage to get that on then you will be okay to flash again, it's the only way to recover from it. Are you following the steps as laid down by Fergus in the 1st link at the bottom of my post.

When i flashed it, i put it on to fly sports 1 and changed the code to see if it would autoroll but its just saying updating but stops and i still dont have a picture. I then went and looked at the code and it had changed it back to the code that is working but i still dont have a picture. Any help would be great. Ta

It does not need Jtagging, it is not dead, what you can do just to rule out a Capacitor/hardware problem though is to remove from mains, and have a look inside, there is only 3 screws to remove and the cover will slide and lift off, just check for any leaking or bulging Cap, especially the C11 Cap. Just to rule out the possibility. Look at this picture courtesy of scOuser.

OK why did you change the code??????????????

Can you get the menu up?

Is EMU turned on?

Do you get any picture like BBC1 or RTE1? etc?

The fixes work so you must have done something wrong.

Not a problem, everyone gets stressed now and then which results in getting a little tetchy, I have to go now pip, so if you could keep an eye on this thread and do some input if needed, don't know whether there will be any feedback, but I can't hang around, only if you have the time though. Cheers ;)

Very good, now that we do know what box you definately have then you now have the fix for it, so go to here back in the Library and get all the documentation you need and have a good look and familiarise yourself with what you want to know, there is plenty of information okay. >>>>>>>>>>

http://www.4shared.com/dir/3042613/f6e3421c/sharing.html

Manual the lot is in there, good luck.
-------------------------------------
Hi, well the flash seems to have gone ok, but i still don't have any unscrambled channels other that the FTA. I followed the instructions implicitly, -had them printed out. I did the flash via USB. The STB came up on my laptop as a drive and had two folders (Firmware, and Mp3) in there, as well as all the files for the recordings i have on the HD. I copied the new .bin file, extracted from the downloaded fix, into Firmware, put the STB back into PVR mode etc. I followed the fix instructions rather than the ones in the manual. The tv screen went to a pastel blue, showed the BURN message, followed by PROGRAMMING, BOOT, etc before re-boot.
When i do System Information it now shows ver3.105, 8th Dec 08.
When i first got the STB i got my channels by doing the scan on T******t, even though my provider is n*l. A scan on n*l got nothing at all.
No matter what i do in the Nagravision window, it ALWAYS reverts to n*l. I can select any of the others, OK the save, but when i go back in it has reverted to n*l. I'd done this to try and ensure both settings were the same, as per a note in one of the posts.
So far i've scanned with n*l, t*****st, C'n'w. n*l got nothing, T*****t got hundreds of channels, and c'n'w got hundreds too.
On these, after the scan, and setting the autoupdate to ON, i left it on Sly S***t 1 for at least a couple of hours, but no updates it seems.
Do you think i should try the other suppliers, re-flash, just keep trying?
Thanks.
B
