Hi,

I've read all the FAQ's including the X360USB Unofficial guide and Xecuters Blaster 360 NE guide, but I am still confused about how the two work together.

I do not want to ever, ever have to open up either my computer or the Xbox 360.

So I paid someone to find a Xbox 360 with a Hitachi drive, and also to install the X360USB and the Blaster 360 NE for me which I ordered and provided as I was/am under the impression that once both were installed I would never have to open up either my computer or the 360.

I don't think he understood what I wanted done, as he installed the Blaster but not the X360USB, which he thought was part of the packaging, but thank god he didn't throw it away! Also when I got the 360, his flashing didn't take, so I can't test it's ability to play backups. At this point I am assuming that this was an honest mix-up and something went wrong during shipment.

So now I have the option of either having him send me the X360USB and try to install it myself, or send him back the 360 and have him try to determine what went wrong and then install the X360USB, then send it back.

What I am trying to determine is if I am correct in my understanding that once the X360USB is installed along with the Blaster NE, that I will never, ever have to open either up in order to flash the 360. I re-read the X360USB Unofficial guide and it looks like I might have overlooked the need for an external molex PSU, but if I send him back the 360 with an external PSU, is it true that I won't have to open anything up?

Please help, so I can give him a response soon....

Thanks so much!

my understanding has alyways been that with the blaster installed you will never have to open up the case again so yes i agree with you. however i would wait for a second take on this matter.

It sounds like he just installed the Blaster but didn't flash your drive. You can still flash your drive through the blaster- that's the whole point of the thing. Read the instruction manual of the blaster and flash your drive.

Hmmm... He says that he was able to play a backup on it before he sent it, and also sent the same backup back to me, but it doesn't work.

When I get home from work tonight I am going to try putting in the original game from the backup he sent and see what happens.

I just got home from work, put in an original and that's not playing either. So its not playing backups and not playing originals.

I have no idea if its a shipping problem, a laser problem, something wrong with the blaster, or something wrong with the flash. He said he flashed it with Ixtreme v1.4 and that it played backups when he shipped it.

I guess I'll be sending it back so he can figure out what's wrong :(

sounds like to me its a bad flash, it did not get damaged in shipping. it could possibly be a laser, but i doubt it. maybe he dosnt know what to do with the equipment you have and you should try a different route if he dosn't do it correctly the second time. thats my opinion.

Well I tried putting in a regular movie DVD and it didn't play that either, which I thought might be a problem with the drive itself, but I am still extremely new at this so I don't know... Anyway I shipped it back so hopefully this will be fixed quickly. :(

even if it dosnt play a movie that too could be a bad flash.
