I bought a d2b wiidvd drive premodded with a wiikey from modchipcentral.com. I plugged it in and my system wont read wii or gamecube originals or backups. i tried config disks and 1.9s update disks burned to various media, with 2 different burners, and ultraiso and imgburn, with no luck. sometimes i get a black error screen telling me to eject the disk and power off the system and sometimes it just says it can't read the disk on the disk channel. also, the drive makes some short noises when i turn on the system with no disk.
is there a setup guide somewhere or does anyone have any suggestions? i emailed modchipcentral and i'm awaiting their reply. heres a couple questions that i was wondering if they might help.
1. when should i put in the disk, after the system starts up or start it up with the disk in the drive?
2. which media do you think is working better, the ones giving me the black screen or the ones with the disk read error? some disk give me different errors depending on when i put them in.
Are you sure you re-connected the drive correctly and securely? I would say take it out and re-install it again as a first port of call, trhen maybe try your old drive back in it to check nothing has been damaged during the new installation...
After this i'm sure some of the experts will post some more ideas. Keep us posted.
Here's the update: modchipcentral emailed me back and said to send it back and they'll replace it, so i sent it back. I'll tell u wat happens in 2 weeks...
