Hello there! I have a big problem with my xbox 360 (and/or computer).. you see I have followed alot of guides and such on how to hack the BenqVAD6038 firmware. I have made a bootUSB and tried both the dosflash method and the iprep method. I also have a Via VT6421 card in my computer.
And I have tried alot of different methods on hacking the xbox (or just reading the firmware) but nothing will work... I tried changing PCI slots, SATA Cable, Having the Xbox on while starting etc... but nothing seem to work. When I get to the part where you press "yes" and the Status 0x7F comes up (and you are supposed to turn the xbox on and off~) it just freezes at 0x7F. I have seen alot of people having this problem aswell and for some they just had to change the port?.. I don't know, won't work for me anyway (using a Vista comp btw)... so let's work something out together shall we?
(one thing I noticed when just typing "dosflash" after the cd tools command in "dos", is that I got a list of SATA ports (also the one I am going to use) and under all of that it sais "ATAPI not enabled" or something... not sure if this has anything to do with it though... I am totally desperate, so I am trying everything I can >.<
Double check which drive you have. The new Lite Ons are showing up world wide in both new and refurb consoles and at first glance appear the same as the Benqs.
ahh tricky... but I double checked again... the Cord (inside of the xbox) is white, and it said "VAD6038, Philips & Benq digital storage corp.". :(... I think I will try and use my friends computer tomorrow after work.. but I really don't know why I need to do it >.< my computer should work out fine...
hmm... remake the stick, might try that... (but I have tried to make a boot USB with HP format~ and then copy the dosflash files etc~ and it still got stuck at the 0x7F (or some other number can't recall.. but it still wouldn't go on after the "yes" before the on and off with ur xbox.
I have also then tried to make iprep boot 1 or 2 times... but I will give it a shot when I get back from work ^^
and also.. I have Vista x64... not sure if I can start Dosflash from windows. It gives me errors wether its dosflash 16 or 32 :(...
(if you want I can ss and put the errors here, if you need to see it)
