Thank you for opening this thread, and thanks in advanced for all help provided...alrighty here is the story I like 2 days ago got an xbox 360 (hurray bout damn time lol) Anyways I hooked it up to go live...It says I am connected to xbox live, However on the xbox live dashboards (xbox live dashboard, market place, And games) Have an endless loading screen...I called both comcast and 1-800-4my-xbox they walked me through all kinds of crap like clearing my cache deleteing and recovering my live account nothing worked...however not long ago All of the live enabled dashboards were online and worked for me, It kept saying signing off-line however once I entered a game...now the dashboards are in their endless loading state again, and it isnt signing me offline anymore...
Now I must ask how do I fix this situation to not sign out and to have the dashboards load instead of waste my time...I will post my connection details on how I am conected to xbox live...
1.I have comcast as my ISP
2.I am useing a linksys WRT54GS
3.I am not counted directly into the modem or router
4.I am useing a logitech router spiliter (since my modem and router are upstairs and 360 down I have to use this...What it does is simple its 2 black little boxes one plugs in the router the other in the 360)
alrighty sorry if this is a long boring detailed story just trying to fit in as much information as I can...Thank you once more and hope to see you all on xbox live very soon :)
The splitter is fine that is actually recommended for xbox live ps2 online and original xbox live...well I wish I were you only 30 seconds seems like paradise...mine doesnt end I mean it will not end...1 hour 2 hours and it will still have the loading screen. I just know that it wont end face it after 2 hours of waiting how much longer could it take to load?
any other advice....I might call microsoft if no one knows how to fix this and I will tell them that this is BS and need to fix it.
why don't you think about the issue here and do something to pin down the problem, instead of listing all those variables. Connect the xbox straight into your comcast modem, If that still doesn't work then your xbox is messed up, if it does then that means your router splitter mess isn't compatiable.
as I said I am not directly connected to the modem or the router, even if I wanted to be directly connected to the router or modem I cant due to the fact that I have no tv upstairs in my computer room...and the fact that I got the dashboards to load once or twice means something must be worng with the xbox.... I really have no idea where to start to fix this problem,I guess I will call MS and see what they have to say...Once again any more advice would be helpful

No it doesn't.
I don't see what the problem is here? You don't have a TV upstairs- OK, i don't need to know, thanks for telling me. Why don't you just run a Cat5 up stairs right into modem for testing purposes...?
