hey guys i just bought my copy of MGS4 ive been playing it now for about an hour & i must say visually it looks absoulty stunning. im just a little dissapointed as im a major fan of the series, that its not in 1080i or 1080p as stated in the psw mag a couple of months ago only 720p (only 720p as if thats a bad resulution)"lol" but i must say it did annoy me a little as i have a 32inch mirai 1080i lcd which i personlly think is a great t.v & a 40inch full HD sony bravia. so i just want to get your views on this matter or the game it's self wheater you are a first time player of the series or a complete die hard fan like myself.cant wait to hear from ye guys id better get back to it the the couch is getting cold lol.

Read the back of the game case. Clearly states supported HD output are 420p, 720p, 1080i, and 1080p.

yours must be diffrent to mine as mine just says HD720p.are you sure it says that on the back of your case? im not calling you a lier or anything because usually ther all the same.

cheers for that.i don't know were bawango bought his?to be honest with you i thought it would be presented in full Hi Def!f*#k it the clarity & graphics are still top notch. what to you think of it so far?

im in ireland.so im asuming that its 720p for europe then? oner you said that you have a 60inch bravia i tell you what if i had a room big enough for it id have one too.id love one that size. if you dont mind just for intrests sake you would'nt tell me how much you paid for it would you?

i have no prob with the gameplay! but id like to know why in europe its only 720p "cos i mean you'd think it would be the same in all the diffrent regions it's been sold in" so if bawango or oner or anyone else could shed some light on this your more than welcome? cheers guys!

Because sony hates europe ;)
Ive been playing it and imo it looks visually amazing, but then again my tv only supports up to 1080i (i use 720p) :D

id agree with you there mate!but what can we do?we just have to live with it.well to be fair it's defenitly the best looking game on the ps3 by a country mile,im only at the bottom of the mountin with this one so alot of gameplay left yet (i wont sleep for days) "great"!well starting from 2morro night cos' not only does it look amazing it sounds amazing through my stereo speakers so what am i going to do? im going to go out 2morro & spend my weeks wages on a good surround sound system,i'll prob be broke next week but f*#k it,it will all be worth come 10 when i put that controller into me hand & mr.brown arrives. ;)"lol"

Yes, i personally think i made a good investment on the surround sound i got. And let me tell you MGS4 imo is 2nd to none in sound, there is soooooooo many effects, just amazing.

I have to agree with the audio, hands down one of the best if not THE best so far in production value! As for my TV it's a Sony 60A3000 that cost me 2K run with an older Sony 5.1 via optical (my next upgrade is an HDMI 7.1 unit). You can see my setup in the GT5 Prologue sticky in the main PS3 thread.

nice very nice!tell me what sort of system would you recomend for use with a mirai hdtv as i dont want to get a sony system for that t.v?im in ireland by the way.

I remember reading an article saying that the actual resolution is 720P and it upscales to 1080P much like cod4 did.
