Yea. I turned on my 360 after bringing it to a friends house and it Red ringed. I turned it off, (while freaking out) and turned it back on, and it was fine. Was it just a fakeout or am I soon to recieve this horrid fate? Should I send it in now, or just ride it out?
Was it 3 lights or 4 lights? If it was 4 lights you didn't have your av cable plugged in all the way when you started your xbox. If it was 3 lights something might be comming loose. Run the xbox so it's flat and see if the problem persists. A lot of people believe running the xbox in the upright position makes things come off the board so it's worth a try. Either way don't take the box apart and you shouldn't have any problems getting it repaired if it rrod's.
1. I always use it flat.
2. I myself have had many friends' X-box's RRod. They play lots of sports. I take extra care to make sure it doesn't RRod. It was 3. I never play sports, I use a wire rack for max vent, a mini fan for circulation OUTSIDE of the box and I turn it off when ever possible... That would suck because my 360 is my only escape from boredom this summer... A month or two to get it shipped out, then back would piss me off.

yeah that's good and crucial to the drive and discs, but hender cooling, because there are vent strips on the bottom designed to bring cool air under the mobo. So there is a trade off. Drive or GPU/CPU. Most xbox go RROD anyway...
Ya I would use the system flat! I used to have it standing up, and my Halo 3 disc was destroyed with a ring scratched on it! Oh well... I gave up on that game anyways! But ya, laying it flat is better then it standing up!
i actually prefer to stand mine up but i have one of those fan stands that way i have airflow throughout all sides, mine lasted almost 2 years without getting prod standing up the entire time, with more than casual gameplay. did xclamp fix and stood it back up again.
