i acquired a hdmi cable made "specifically" for the playstation and after disconnecting about 4 months later from the ps3 i saw there was corrosion on it. similar to a car battery. anyway, do manufacturers make silver hdmi cables? or only gold cause i want to match up the contacts metal-wise so it hopefully wont get worse..

You should be using gold. I've never heard of silver connectors before its likely a lesser alloy that obviously rusts judging by the after effects.

okie dokie. i cheaped out and bought a shaxon industries hdmi cable but it says gold connectors so hopefully it will work.
