Do any of you take the game disc out when watching, for example, a film on the ps3, not bluray or anything? I mean, it doesn't keep spinning the disc, does it? I "turn off" the laser and everything when not reading the disc, right? Because when I watch films etc I always leave the game disc in there, should I take it out?

If I know I'm gonna play (like I did yesterday--I knew I would play again today as soon as I get home), I usually leave it in there. If I know I'm not gonna play, or watch a DVD/BR (since I use the PS3 to do so), I take out the disc AND turn off the power from the back.
I don't think any harm can come from leaving a disc in there.

I agree. When I go to bed I leave MGS4 in my PS3 because I know that I'm going to play it again as soon as I turn on my PS3. If I know I'm not going to be on I take the disc out.

I dont remove the disc never, DMC4 was in for over a month.
I dont know after how long, i haven't timed it, but the BD stops spinning after some minutes without using it.

well i don't know... I don't think i'm that kind of person because i've had it for about six months and the top is already scratched enough. The controllers... well not broken but you can tell they've used... but the discs are perfect because I always leave them in my ps3 :)
