Accidentally updated my wii with a different region's update

so here is the deal. I have NTSC JAP Wii and I have Wiikey on it. I did not update my wiikey firmware to 1.9s and even before I have not run the updates before. now when I burned backup Boombox game which is USA NTSC, it ran the update on my japanese modded wii and now after the update is done, I receive newschannel and weatherchannel but also, it have seem that the icon picture displayed on the front page of my wii is now spelled "Boombox" in japanese. When I try to turn it on, it does not work and just went blank. I tried inserting my other backup wii games like transformer and it works fine.

my questions are:
am I screwed?
where did I go wrong?
how can I fix this?
I haven't tried to use the 1.9s config disk should I try using that?
What about super mario bros. brawl? don't you need to update it too?

ok it seems that I downloaded the US firmware update instead so I think my Jap wii got semi bricked...so I updated to 3.2J_B which comes from smash brawl using WAV now it display my US games in Japanese letterings...perhaps I have to turn on the config disk for wiikey and change the setting to play all region on the wiikey...now I have to wait for GC controller to come.
