Hello all...I have to tell you that I spend four months trying to make my first Xbox back up...am I stupid? No...I am very good at computers. But, almost every on here with the exception of DJ Boogie and a few others don't seem to know how to talk in layman's terms and let someone know why they are moving a file, putting this and that there, etc. If you need help please PM me because I have the ability to explain to you how and what to do from step one rather than just trying to give you hints as to how to do it. I respect Newbies and always said that I would give back to the forums. But, I am very annoyed at people on here who cannot seem to speak in complete sentences and just don't seem to want to help people. Look guys, if you don't have something to say that will honestly help someone...don't POST!!!! I am sorry for those of you that are detail oriented but c'mon...enough is enough. PM me if you need help. Believe me...I will save you hours of time because I am nice and can explain what the hell is going on.

Well here goes. I have a Executer mod chip in and have been using it for months. Went in no problem. It is screwed in and the connections are spring loaded, so none of the soldering I have been reading about. Today I started having big time hanging of the system even in regular store bought games, so I thought the first thing to check is the mod chip. I think it is a 2.0 version, it does not say on the chip and I can not get in to look at it. Alos I have no idea as to tell which version of xbox I have, I do know I bought it right when they came out, so have to assume 1.0. Anyhow I removed the chip and now when I power on it power cycles 3 times and flashed red and green around the eject button, and the drive does not eject. I see many folks here have these issues, however they all say it is when trying to install a chip and the xbox works fine with the chip removed. Mine has these symptoms with or with the chip in. Sometimes the chip is red and sometimes green upon powering up, and occasionally I can get the drive to open, however I have checked all the connections, went to rca cables vs the HD cables I normally use. I get a black screen. Any thoughts as to what I did and how to rectify it? Thanks!!!

Unfortunately, I can help you with backing up games, Craxtion, and all of the soft side...however, I don't know a whole lot about the hardware side...My apologies.

Hey Motomatt...bite me...I should have told everyone that I can help out with Craxtion, Burning, FTP, etc...which is usually everyone's major problem. It's not my fault if people can't afford to buy a modded system. Probably the same people who are sitting at home getting stoned and voting for Howard Dean...which obviously isn't many! So Motomatt...go get a job and get off my ass you prick.

R U Stupid? Well, i didn't say it. But 4 months to get a burned game working? Did you by chance ride a little yellow bus when you were young? (like maybe 2 years ago?). And BTW, you don't need a modded system to actually play a copied game, just some know how on expoits. I played my 1st game in the 1st 3 hours of buying my XBox, 10 minuts later, i was playing it directly off my hard drive. Have fun ya'll.

I don't suppose any of you can help with my issue, that seems to have gotten lost in slamming of someone who was just trying to be helpful...

Not much you can do with the XBOX not booting. It sounds like to me that somethings screwy with your Harddrive or your Dashboard files on the harddrive. I have a executer chip myself. It will boot with the chip or the original dashboard with it disabled. Although I have known some people to install EVO-X incorrectly and make the original dashboard not boot when the chip is disabled. Seems to me your best and only option is to install the chip again and get the XBOX to boot a EVO-X disk so you can try to FTP to the XBOX and see if there is a problem. What do you think ?

I thought the idea of this forum was to help and / or maybe explain problems people are having, 4 months to do a game to me shows someone whos not willing to give up. A lot look at the xbox modding / backup thing and think "forget that!" stupid comments and p*ss taking isnt really what this forum is about.
I admit to making a few coasters myself when I started. Luckily I did start off using stomp recordnow, which, I believe is the best burning software for the xbox. But if someone starts off with software for burning that they have problems with, how are they supposed to know!? you elimate problems one by one, and eventually get it to work, as eggbert did, good for you!
Ignore the dumb comments mate

If anyone has a modded box and has problems with booting, Ive been there, with the xecuter chips they do that if the chip moves, makes a funny noise and goes off, re align the chip, and screw it down a bit tighter, solved the prob I had:-)

No one here can say they didn't read his first line and laugh.. Because we all have been there. Just not 4 months of it..I read really really fast I guess. If Eggbert feels insecure about himself and has to get mad and flame me because I laughed at his statement. Then so be it. I didn't tell him how stupid he was or say "ANYTHING" regarding his knowledge. He did a excellent job of that all by himself the first post he made. I just hope he gets help with his anger problem that is very very evident in all his posts. If you dont want me laughing then stop saying funny stuff...

His first post in this thread was to slate "all us people that dont help" and then he went onto explain how he was the *knowledge* on xbox modding. If people were not getting "help" on here, then why are there so many satisfied members on here like me who found out all I know through this forum

Take a chill pill eggy

In my experience Record Now DX has been bullet proof for me in burning xbox games.. Nero has cost me alot of disks.. I guess if you make a ISO out of your backed up XBOX game Nero will work. But I dont make ISO's so I dont need it.. Just drag drop and burn with Record Now DX. It came with my burner for free

motomatt > i agree i use record now max for both drag in files (which is known as the data burn method) i use Nero or rnm for iso's i've not tried Nero for data burn as i don't think it would work anyway

That would be a GREAT assumption.. I have tried alot of different ways with no success. If anyone knows how to burn a xbox backup WITHOUT making a ISO I sure would love to know. Hey Egg do you know ?

Ok..I apologize...it didn't take me four months to figure it out...it's just that I quit cause I got frustrated and it has been over four months that I have tried. However, I quit trying for almost three months until DJBoogie was nice enough to PM me. I promise I won't post on here again...sorry. I will just read the posts. Thanks.
