I know the tools>options>library bit, it is not that.
I'm running vista x86, latest updates, both zone alarm and windows firewall (both have been tested on and off during this), eset nod 32 antivirus and I am using a WRT56G Linksys Router (Connected to PS3, both wirelessly, and wired (testing)). PS3 has latest firmware.
I can get a connection on my PS3, but it won't find media servers, and media player 11 won't find the PlayStation 3. I've tried numerous software-firewall options and nothing.
Here is my Network and Sharing screen:
Here is my Media Player Screen:
Here is my Router Firewall settings (Nothing is Port Triggered or Port Forwarded, UPnP is Enabled):
Have you tried a different media server program? Some people had a hell of a time getting WMP11 to work. This may seem like a dumb question but is media server connection enabled on your ps3? All of the pics you posted look normal.

I've actually solved it now, had to go into services.msc and change some settings/reboot ps3 & pc.
question I have now, is what settings do I need to have access to the files/folders I've selected?
I added my moviesfolders but not swure what settings
I'm glad you got it working but I'm a little unexperienced with WMP11. Have you looked into Tversity. It's a great program and most people on this board will recommend it.
I see that your network box is empty. you have to select network and allow it to find equiptment on your network. You are sharing but have nothing selected to share with. I'm using Windows Media Player 11, works fine for me. I have not tried the other Players mentioned but always hear good things about them.
