Hey...
I live in London. Im thinking about buying a PS3. At the moment only 40gig seem to be available (unfortunately I really wanted PS2 playback), so ive decided to go ahead and buy one anyways. GTA4 and MGS4 are the games that I want. I saw a 40gig, GTA4 or MGS4, and Grid Racing Bundle for 350 pounds. Just wanted to know whether anyone has seen any better deals or perhap where i can get a 60gig.
Thanks :D

Well the only place you will find a 60gig nowadays is 2nd hand or from a specialty shop. You may find one for sale in the afterdawn buy/sell forums. And the 40gig is rumored to be getting backwards compatibility in a firmware update this fall; but again only a rumor.

i have bought the 60gb on lunch day and before 5-6 weeks i bought the 40gb too, from that day i have turned on the 60 less than 5 times.
The 40 is so quite that i liked it a lot.
Just saying stick with the 40gb until Christmas, and maybe we(at europe) get lucky and see the 80gb from 2009.

IMO sooner or latter they will have too, cause they must start selling PS2 games over PSN.

The only thing I can say about the launch North America unit is that we have the emotion engine in our 60 gigs. I do hope that you guys that bought the 40 will get backwards compatibility in this rumored firmware update this fall. If Sony wants a strong Playstation Store then PS2 games must be implemented into the store. This means backwards compatibility on all units. Sony should have never gave up on in the first place.

you can see it now, people not satisfied with software emulation so SOny finally devide to introduce the emotion chip into all new consoles.
Imagine the uproar on that! People going to Sony headqaurters and throwing their old PS3s through all their windows :D

PS2 games over PSN? Downloading PS2 ISOs @ 1-4 GB is pain enough. I'd hardly think you could handle more than a few games on your HD before it'd be full with music, video, photo, and huge ISOs. I've not heard of PS2 games over PSN but I don't see that in the near future.

WEll many people have already upgraded their hdd to 250GB+ drives to add all their movies and music, so they have plenty of space for ps2 iso files.
