Cheers Dave, I have seen your blog and CDF, problem been this is a constant problem, (movements of TPs and channel PIDs), so best bet is to manually update the channels. Your CDF is for The Box only.
However your CDF for N** Dublin is much appreciated, just keep it up to date for everyone :)

Its asymmetrical warfare so it is. I will keep it up to date because I need it for my own box and the boxes of friends. Yes it is only for "Starview: The Box". Ive said it before and ill say it again, this forum is all over the place and could be made a lot better by forcing people to use the threads that already have the answers.

We have tried and so have the Mods, last year was worse in regards to repetitive threads, now we have posts outside of forum rules, so add in that factor.
I think you need to be here a bit longer to evaluate how the forum runs. Many repetitive posts are simply routed to a link where there query is answered, (thanks to the many great members here). With regards to "forcing" people to look for there answers, best of luck.
I have this link that says it all really http://www.starterupsteve.com/swf/posting.html and thats just my way of saying look before you post.
But all in all if you look at the stickies and the library all the info is there already. Queries which are outside of them are either found in the search facility or if not someone here is always here to help, guess thats why they call it a forum, whether it "all over the place", or not it still proves to be quite a knowledge base.

If your in Dublin on n*l , do a manual scan on 347.500 khz for C4, s*y one & two etc.
manual scan is the only way to retrieve vanishing channels? If i returned the sv clone to factory settings and done a auto scan, would this also work (without loosing all channels or disturbing my auto update keys)?

An autoscan would work but delete the blank channels first. If you do a factory reset you will lose your channel order.

Where abouts are you, Ireland or UK, and have you done a Factory Re-set and fresh Installation, think it is the only way you will get them back on there.

I know this has been covered in some other thread but I just cant find it!
My box is constantly in the 'data is being updated' state since yesterday - it never rises above 0%. Im in Dublin. RTE1 and all my radio stations are still coming in fine so there's no problem with any comms. I turned off/on my box, made sure emu is 'on' and still it stays in the 'data is being updated' state. Anytime codes have changed before my box was able to auto adjust, I've been using it for last 8 months with no trouble.
I also tried deleting all my channels and re-scanning, even though the scan picks up all channels again it still remains in 'data is being updated'. Any help would be appreciated.
Here are my box specs:
API: 6.00e_E
Boot Ver: 8.0

All sorted! I followed DesB's advice here and for some reason when I left channel on s*y Two it immediately started to increase in % and after 5 seconds everything came back. Would love to know why having channel set to s*y Two made the difference, answers on a post card please... :-)

One sure way to make sure it is broke is to look at the infra red 'window' or bulb through a digi camera (eg your phone's camera) and press a button on the remote. The camera will see the infra red flash (which always amazes me...LOL small things and small minds etc). But yeah, £8-£10 on eBay....in fact a search of 'Starview' virtually only brings up remotes since they cracked down on the sale of the actual boxes recently (well, remotes and the low-lives who are selling the recent free firmware fixes for profit)

Hi all,
Based in Dublin and I've lost all my N'Tee'L channels bar RTE1 in the last few days. I've an original Starview box
API ver: 4.50e_E
Boot ver: 7.0
5.Jul.2007
I've tried the below instructions and it does rescan 184 channels but they're all blank and the "Data is being updated" prompt comes up but stays at 0%. (RTE1 still works after rescan and I can see the program listings for all channels in the EPG). Any help would be greatly appreciated!
