Well, I've recently updated my modded Wii to 3.3E, and I made sure no imported pirated games were in my Wii. After the update, when I attempted to slip in a pirated copy of Super Smash Bros. Brawl (NTSC)(U) and I waited, I got a black screen saying that an error occured and it tells me to eject the disc, turn off my Wii and refer to my Wii Operations Manual for help. I keep slipping in the disc, and the same problem occurs everytime. Does anyone have a solution to this problem? Please help if possible.

Thanks

(The modchip that I use is an Argon.)

Did the copy of Brawl work on your Wii before the update?

Was it a scrubbed (or otherwise modified) disc? ie. is it a dual layer one that was about 8G download (or was it less?)

Does your other backups work? sounds like the new firmware may have detected a mod-chip present, did you try updateing the Argon?

Yes, my other backups do work.

BTW, I don't see a cable sticking out of my console in which I can update my Argon.

Someone on another thread was saying that their DVD5 copy of brawl had stopped working since the update. Its possable that nintendo added a second-layer check for brawl, because I've heard a couple people say that their brickblocked and scrubbed disks still work (though I dont know anyone personally who's tried it so they could be wrong)

I think this is very possible. I was also told that nintendo was going to try to stop mods by bricking their most popular titles like Brawl and Mario Kart.

SSBB is a dual layer game, but all thats on the second layer is the cutscenes for SSE mode. So the game will work fine in multiplayer and online and any other mode that dosent check for the existence of the second layer of the game. What I was saying is that its possable that nintendo added something that automatically checks for that second layer as an attempt to block people from playing backups of the game.
