Like I said earlier...ppl that are not MGS fans will not enjoy the game. MGS has kept its style of gameplay ever since it came out on the PS1. It has only gotten better so If you didnt enjoy MGS4 then you would not enjoy any of the MGS series at all.
And that is why it will definitely not come out on the 360. Cant compare it to GTA4 because like Canuckerz said the GTA series are not linked. Its an easy pick up and play.
It would be like Halo4 coming out to the PS3...and thats not even as bad in comparison because Halo4 is a FPS and you would probably enjoy the game regardless if you know the strotyline or not.
I was only comparing the way the game sells to GTA4 which I guess you didn't understand the logic behind my statement.I said people bought GTA4 because it was popular not because of its play.The game aint as good as the releases before it.I'm not saying change the gameplay of MGS4 at all,and its not my type of game to begin with.If it came out for the XBox 360 it would sell and that was the point I was trying to make.I think I would enjoy Halo if it came out on the PS3 because it is better than MGS games in my opinion even if it doesn't have a story.I'm not sure what your are getting at,but the story for MGS games are good I never said it didn't have a story.I said it lacked gameplay in my previous post and I don't care if they change it or not.I have better games I could play instead of Metal Gear Solid,and I named more than enough shooters that I enjoy.I think Socom has better gameplay than MGS as well.The thing about MGS games they get boring to me,because it lacks gameplay in my opinion.
I forgot to mention Metal Gear Solid didn't keep its gameplay since the PS1.They changed the gameplay for the PSP,and to be honest it blows.I'm not sure if you played them or not,but MGS Acid is nothing like the PS1 Metal Gear Solid.
Ok...MG acid is a small branch of the actual series and has no major impact on the main story at all. Its card based and yes it blows. But the PSP also had MGS portable ops which still has the same gameplay.

You cant compare apples to oranges. GTA4 obviuosly sells because of its gameplay not the storyline. As for MGS4...it sells mainly because of its deep and complex storyline and not so much its gameplay. Only MGS fans that have played the series before will enjoy the gameplay as much as the stroyline.
Ofcourse the MGS4 gameplay shouldnt change...the reason why MGS fans love it so much because it kept its original gameplay but with more features and improvements as the series continues. What I dont understand is that you are saying the MGS series has a good storyline but lacks in game play and is boring....not your type of game. So have you played all of the MGS games? And if so why did you continue playing them if they are boring and not your type? And why do you think that MGS4 lacks in gameplay when it is far better than all the other MGS games?
You are a good example of how ppl who only own a 360 will think of the game if MGS4 comes out on the 360...(probably wont ever). Yes a possibility of ppl owning PS1 and PS2 but move onto the 360 and not PS3 might buy MGS4 for the 360 but it wont sell like GTA4 im willing to bet everything on that.
I believe ALL games should be multiplatform. That way manufacturers would have to sell their consoles based on the hardware and not the available library.
If that were the case, you can bet your ass that MS wouldn't be screwing their customers with crap hardware.
But, of course, that's not the case. Obviously first party titles will never be ported.

You still think I'm trying to compare MGS4 with GTA4 which are completely different and I know they are different but its the game sells I was only comparing.I'm saying if the game is popular it will sell doesn't matter with the gameplay or storyline.I have seen people run out and buy games just because they are popular,not because the storyline is complex or the gameplay is good.I normally play a game first before giving my thoughts,and yes I have played my share of Metal Gear Solid.I own all the next gen consoles,and Metal Gear Solid doesn't interest me.If Metal Gear Solid only has a storyline and you agree then why play the game.You could watch a movie about it instead of spending money on that game.The Metal Gear Solid series has always lacked in the gameplay department in my opinion.If the gameplay doesn't change in Metal Gear Solid then I don't see the point in playing every single Metal Gear before it or after it.The gameplay will not change,and probably never will no matter how many guns they put in the game or visuals they introduce.You still don't understand the point of my comment and that is both games have been sold on popularity,which has nothing to do with the story or gameplay.If MGS4 sells because of its story then why are there threads about people not understanding the story? If you can give me a good answer to that then I will let it go,but I can guarantee that MGS4 sells copies on popularity just like any other major release title.
I see your point dude...but not everyone will get the storyline as easily as others. There is nothing wrong with that. MGS series has a very complex and intricate storyline. Obviously its not made for little kids who will just play the game just cause...
Its like saying why do ppl like the matrix trilogy so much? Im sure about half the people dont get the story the first time they watch the movies. But they buy it on DVD and watch it several times in order to get the story.
Same goes with MGS series. If I only played each MGS once and no more...I would be totally lost. That is the reason why ppl play games over and over because its fun and the story is great...the more you play the more you understand.
You are forgeting why MGS became popular in the first place. If ppl are actually buying games just cuz its the cool thing to do, its popular and new and they have no idea what the hell the game is about...I doubt they will enjoy it. Just like in your case...you never liked the series to begin with and that is fine...but you seriously think everyone will go out and buy MGS4 as much as GTA4 if it comes to the 360 even though they had no idea what the game was about?
You arent getting what Im trying to say. Yes MGS4 will sell here and there if it comes out on the 360 as do most games of that level but Im willing to bet the numbers will be no where close to that of GTA4.
I get what your saying,but lets leave MGS4 alone because there really is no chance of it happening for the XBox 360.Sony has it and I don't think they will part with it since it is the best seller for the system at the moment.I think we have gone a little too far with Metal Gear Solid,and it has a storyline I give it props for that.I know this is off topic but if a movie came out from the game genre I would like to see a Metal Gear Solid movie.You have to admit though some people are gullable enough to run out and buy games without playing the previous releases.The MGS series doesn't make any sense to most people,because they probably didn't play the earlier releases and the stories run into each other.It would sell more in my mind if it was open to all the consoles,and like bhetrick I agree 100% all games should be multi-platform.I really don't like the fact that I had to buy all these next gen consoles,because of exclusives and I have to admit the 360 has a really bad system design.
