obtain the dvd drive key from your original drive, take new drive, flash it with original drives key, and your done. occasionally you have to 'spoof' the drive. this is done if you have a samsung drive and replace it with a different model drive such as a hitachi drive, or vice-versa. thats basically all you have to do to swap drives. and after you get this done, you can now play backup games as well.
read the tutorials on how to flash a drive. it basically depends on which drive you have right now, and which one you are going to get. but why are you replacing the drive to begin with?
