Hi all, have a new problem, and have had excellent advice here in the past...so here goes, hope someone can help.
I had all my wii iso`s on an external hard drive and used to burn them from here.
I have just re-installed my vista home basic after my pc became corrupted, I unplugged the hard drive before doing this.
Got my system up & running fine again but when i plugged the external drive back in my wii iso`s were all zipped up again in winrar files.
I have installed winrar agin but when i try to unzip them I get the following error message.
can not open file `K:\wii iso\(wii game title).iso` as archive The files are all 4,589,824 KB so its not as though they have dissappeared. any suggestions please?
They're not winrar files, they're still isos. Your file associations just got messed up. Winrar likes to claim that it can open iso files but it rarely can.
I'm not sure if this works in vista but in XP the quickest way to change a file association is to right click on any one of the files you want to change, hit properties, look for the thing that says 'open with', click the 'change' button and and find what you want to open the file with from the list.
And actually, you dont even need to do that becuase they'll still burn with imgburn just fine. As I said before, the files havent been changed at all, windows is just giving them the winrar icon because winrar is trying to claim anything .iso
Hi thanks for the info.
I cracked it in the end by uninstalling winrar and the files then reverted back to iso files assocciated with nero.
I will have to install winrar again though as I need it, if the same thing happens i will try your suggestion.
Thanks again
When you reinstall WinRAR you will get the opportunity to change what files are associated with WinRAR. Just untick the ISO box when the opportunity comes during install.
If you install it and don't get this opportunity then you can change the association of ISO by doing th folowing...
Well yes programming a wii game for Pc won't be easy but if there is any emulator for Wii,except Wii OS(Wich is a simulator basicaly and still needs fixing)
