Hello
I have a working copy of brawl, recently(today) I burnt mario kart wii, i updated my wii to latest firmware through the wii's options.
It updated i then placed the NTSC copy of mario kart wii into the wii. It stated that it needed to perform a system update. I let it run it went to about 50% stopped and then a black screen come up saying something along the lines of system files corrupted.

I put my copy of brawl in and now while it reads the disc a black screen pops up saying disc error, please eject and restart wii comes up. Im not in the disc channel and I havent clicked start. It does it while I am looking at all the channels when I am at the home screen.

I have other backups for example mario strikers and orginal games. My other backups work and the orginal copies also work. The only backups that do not work are brawl or mario kart wii.

My backup of brawl is working I was playing it on the same wii while mario kart was buring.

I have formatted the wii's memory and it still doesn't work what else can I do. I have a 3.3E Pal wii with a 1.9s wiikey.

How could I get brawl to work again?

Many thanks for you help

your problem could be the new 3.3 update since it messes up all the games that have been modified such as trucha signed as well as other patching. so ur best bet is to get a unmodified iso that is from your region and see if it works.

I dont have enough download quota to do so. Mario Kart still doesnt work though and its not easy to trucha sign it without doing what i consider dodgy methods.

im getting this now when i put in the mario kart disc

The system files are corrupted. Please refer to the Wii Operations Manual

and when i put in that disc that is meant to fix semi bricks wii menu update 290

my wii still plays some backups and all my originals is this bad or will it go away with newer firmware?

Hi Scopein,
At the beginning of your message you said you used a NTSC Mario Kart game but then at the bottom you said your Wii is PAL. So yeah it sounds like you have a brick situation here. It is probably also why your having trouble with Brawl. Once your quota is down do what Egrialuca suggested and get yourself a copy of Mario Kart PAL. See if that works. Good luck!

It?s weird though I don?t think my wii is bricked now, I can change all settings play every one of my backups and originals without problems bar SSBB and Mario kart

I even installed the Zelda TP hack, installed the homebrew channel and have got the gecko region free loader.

I?ve been mucking around with the gecko region free loader and it loads all my other backups and originals but when I put brawl in it recognises it and gives me the game name. I press a to auto launch the screen flickers black and then stays green, it just freezes if I force into pal60 mode.

With Mario kart it recognises Mario kart and gives me its code and then it freezes after it tells me the game code. The screen doesn?t change or flicker or anything it?s just stuck in geckos region free.

I have noticed during my testing that when I put a game that I know works now, Zelda TP, when I launch it through gecko region free it recognises, gives me the games code then flickers black shows me a green screen for like a second and then loads as a normal wii game does.
I?m hoping that the next update Nintendo releases will fix up my wii?s erratic behaviour. Really all thats happened is that I have duplicate channels and that Mario Kart Wii and SSBB doesn?t work anymore. SSBB which is trucha signed will not work with my wii?s firmware 3.3E. From my readings I was to understand that trucha signed discs will work if you use geckos region free loader v1.5 with my wii?s firmware.
Is this correct?
