ok, i know this is just another FTP thread, but this really wont work..
i used to be able to connect my xbox to my PC through the router with a crossover cable. that stopped working.
i have followed all the guides, word for word, none work.
what i have
running XP
one linksys router
one crossover cable
modded xbox (XMBC)
flash FXP
my xbox settings Static:
IP: 192.168.0.3
Netmask: 255.255.255.0
Default gateway 0.0.0.0
DNS Server: 192.168.0.4
(yes i do reset xbox after saving settings etc)
what i do/ happens: Ive tried this same method with the crossover cable connected to my router and PC.
i go to Network Connections, right click Local Area connection, highlight TCP/IP settings and manually make the IP adress 192.168.0.4, gateway 255.255.255.0, last thing blank and the 2 DNS things blank, i go to Flash fxp, make the url thing 192.168.0.3, port 21, username/pw are xbox xbox i click connect then it says [connected PC or router]:
connecting to 192.168.0.3
Connected to 192.168.0.3 [stays there for a minute]
connection failed (connection lost)
note, on local area connection, it says connected for both and im an administrator
